About Gus (Gustavo) Freitag
I have had my own management consulting practice since late 2012 after over twelve years with Kearney and Oliver Wyman’s Aviation Practice, where I managed strategy, due diligence, restructuring/operations improvement and cost reduction projects primarily in the aviation, aerospace and surface transportation sectors. My projects to date have been based in 16 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and the South Pacific. I was a flight test engineer prior to management consulting, and am still an aviation geek at heart.
Travel and diverse cultures are my passions, with the goal of someday visiting all countries in the world – currently at 111 and counting. My alma maters are the University of Michigan (go blue!) and London Business School. Born in Brazil, I speak fluent English and Brazilian Portuguese, as well as business level Spanish and German. I am also learning French.
While the world is my playground, the Lake Tahoe area is now home. When not on the road, I enjoy my free time cycling, hiking, paddling, skiing, cooking, playing classical piano, and am most recently improving my photography skills - check out my photo blog.
